About Me

My photo
Our kindergarten encourages children to learn and grow independently and together fostering the well being of both family and community, where the wonderful spreading elm tree enhances our outdoor play area. This blog is a wonderful way to keep in touch with whanau/families, both in Dunedin and further afield.

Our new addition to Kindergarten

What a surprise when Kayden walked into our shed and found a baby duckling. He is now settling into the way of life at Kaikorai Kindergarten. The children arrive excited to see how Zachery Quack is going. We look forward to tracking his progress as he grows.

Children's sign in book

Over the last week we have implemented a sign in book for the children.
Every morning when the children arrive, they have the option to sign themselves in. This is encouraging the tamariki/children to become familiar with recognising letters, their own name and in writing.
It is fanatstic to see so many give this a go and what wonderful writers they are!
